AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
-
1.Remove bandage after 24 hours, if possible remove in shower. Unscented soap and water will help while removing. This specific bandage does not absorb anything so there will be ink/liquids that build inside. Carefully peel the bandage starting at one of the edges.
2. Wash tattoo with unscented soap, carefully removing the ink/liquids that have to come to surface. Pat dry with clean lint free towel or paper towel. Let the tattoo dry out a little before placing new bandage on. If not reapplying please refer to “Healing without Second skin”
3. Cut bandage to size of the tattoo, make sure the tattoo is dry and clean before placing bandage on. DO NOT apply any ointments or creams or the bandage will not adhere to the skin properly.
4. Peel white side of bandage off (there should be a perforated edge to help remove it) make sure the bandage is sticky at one of the edges, ensuring the bandage is on the clear side still. Place bandage on tattoo, so it is fully covered. Make sure it is adhered to the skin and carefully peel the clear side of the bandage off (there should be a blue line going through it to help remove, if not peel from one of the edges) avoid having air bubbles, you can carefully push the bubbles to the edge of the bandage, if there are any.
5. You don’t want to remove these bandages too early, try to leave on for a minimum of 4 days to max 7 days. This bandage is relatively waterproof so showering will not be an issue, try not to let the water directly hit the tattoo. It is not guaranteed the bandage is fully waterproof, so still avoid fully submerging the tattoo (example. no baths or swimming)
6. Remove bandage carefully after minimum 4 to maximum 7 days
7. After the bandage is removed, it won’t be fully healed. You will want to wash the tattoo 2 times a day with unscented soap and use a small amount of unscented lotion to help hydrate and suppress itching. Some people experience a 2nd round of peeling after taking the bandage off and will likely happen a couple days after the bandage is removed.
8. The tattoo should be fully healed within 3-4 weeks.
A small amount of people experience sensitivities or allergic reactions with these bandages. Sometimes in high movement areas, like elbows, arm pits or knees, you can experience redness surrounding the bandage. If so I do recommend to remove it and go ahead with regular healing instructions below.
I DO NOT recommend to heal with second skin during the summer, due to sweat and heat. I find it better to heal without, to avoid any infections or irritation.
If exercising or doing high activity, I also recommend NOT to heal with second skin so you can access to the tattoo to clean it. Constantly removing and replacing the bandage is not a good idea and will irritate the skin. Give yourself a welcomed break from exercising especially in the first week of healing. Ideally until the tattoo reaches the dry and flaky stage (typically 3-4 days). Make sure to keep clean and avoid any contact with surfaces.
DO NOT pick scabs, scratch, soak (NO swimming or baths, showers are okay). Avoid sun exposure (no sunscreen till fully healed) wear loose clothing around the tattoo.ONLY USE UNSCENTED PRODUCTS DURING THE HEALING PROCESS

3.The next day and onward you will be cleaning your tattoo about 2-3 times day
4.For the first few days you will just be cleaning the tattoo, but if you find your skin is feeling tight or irritated you can use vitamin e ointment (must be an ointment, webbers or life brand work well) only apply a very small amount as you don’t want it to be sitting on top of the skin
5.When you hit day 3-4 +, your skin will start to be dry, flaky and itchy. You can start using a small amount of unscented moisturizer after washing and drying (unscented hand creams work well because they absorb quick and moisturize well). No petroleum jelly or vitamin e ointment at this point
